Working together to increase choice!
Through the support of Kirklees Council, Outlookers is delighted to announce an exciting new service. We now offer like-for-like replacements for lost or damaged equipment such as canes, cane tips, liquid level indicators, and bump-on dots. We will be working with Kirklees Integrated Community Equipment Service (KCIES), which is run by Medequip and funded by Kirklees Council and the NHS. This offers flexibility to local visually impaired people, through greater choice over where and how people receive replacement equipment.
Replacement equipment can be provided at our Sight Loss Centres in Huddersfield and Batley, or by arrangement at peer support groups across Kirklees. You can arrange this with a member of the team, by calling 01924 445222, or emailing info@outlookers.org.uk. We hope that this will be a useful option, especially if you are already planning to visit our services.
You can continue to order replacement equipment directly from Medequip, by calling them on 01484 728970. Their team is ready to assist you and can arrange for items to be sent directly to your home, a great option if you need a replacement more quickly.
It is important to note that Medequip and Outlookers can only provide replacements for existing equipment. If you need something else, please contact the Sensory Team or Rehabilitation Team at Kirklees Council for assistance on 0300 304 5555 or by completing the online form at:

We are thrilled to offer this new service in collaboration with Kirklees Council, and we hope it makes life a little easier for those in need of equipment replacements. As always, we are here to support you.
