We are delighted to announce that our esteemed Outlookers volunteer, Helen Lawson, from Rochdale, has been selected to join the women’s cricket team for a special journey to India!  Helen’s passion for the sport and dedication to inclusivity in athletics make her an incredible asset to the team.

Ten years ago, Helen experienced a life-altering event when she suffered a head injury and a mini-stroke, which left her blind within just four hours. Despite this significant challenge, Helen has persevered and continues to inspire others with her determination and commitment to fostering opportunities for individuals with visual impairments in sports.

As Helen Lawson embarks on this exciting adventure, we want to express our support and gratitude for her commitment. We know she will be an excellent ambassador for Outlookers and an inspiration to others with her participation in the first Women’s T20 Cricket World Cup for the Blind in 2025.

Please join us in wishing Helen Lawson and her teammates the best of luck as they prepare for this extraordinary experience. We can’t wait to see the positive impact they will have on the world of cricket and the lives of others. To stay updated on the team’s progress and support Helen and the rest of the girls, please visit their Facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/share/1A1SoxWDP2/?mibextid=wwXIfr.

We are incredibly proud of Helen Lawson and the team, and we know they will represent Outlookers, Rochdale, and the visually impaired community with pride and determination. Let’s cheer them on as they embark on this incredible journey to India!
