Our Vision for Change: Can We Reach £1,000 by New Year?

Six months ago, we launched our Vision for Change – Small Change, Big Impact fundraising challenge and invited our community to start collecting their loose change to help support Outlookers services across Kirklees.

Today, we are delighted to share the update that many of you have been waiting for.

Small Change, Big Impact – Our Progress So Far

We are now approximately six months into the challenge, and thanks to the incredible support of our members, volunteers, supporters, friends and local community, the total raised so far stands at an amazing: £388.91.  This is a fantastic achievement and demonstrates exactly why we believe that small change really can have a big impact. What’s even more exciting is that there are still lots of collecting cups, jars and pots out in the community, steadily filling up day by day. Every coin added brings us one step closer to our next goal.

Our New Target – £1,000 by New Year

With the momentum building, we are now setting ourselves a challenge:

Can we reach £1,000 by New Year?

Better still, can we exceed it?

We know that together we can achieve great things, and this is one of those fundraising activities that genuinely allows everyone to get involved. Whether it’s a few pence from your pocket, spare change from a shopping trip, or the coins sitting in the bottom of a handbag, every donation makes a difference.

A Reminder for Our Collectors

For those already collecting on behalf of Outlookers, thank you for your continued support.

As your cup, jar or collection pot begins to fill up, please remember that donations can be dropped into any Outlookers group at any time. There is no need to wait until the end of the challenge.  Regularly banking donations helps us put those funds to work sooner, supporting the people who rely on our services across Kirklees.

There’s Still Time to Get Involved

We still have plenty of Vision for Change collecting cups available for anyone who would like to take part.  However, you don’t need an official collecting cup to get involved. If you can’t get to one of our groups to collect a cup, why not start your own collection at home using a coffee jar, biscuit tin, empty container or any spare pot you have available?  The beauty of this challenge is its simplicity. Anyone can join in, and every contribution counts.

Why Your Small Change Matters

In the charity sector, every penny makes a difference. Those small amounts soon add up and help us continue providing vital support, activities and services for people living with sight loss throughout Kirklees.  The success of this challenge so far proves that when a community comes together, even the smallest donations can create a lasting impact.  So let’s keep the momentum going. Tell your family, friends, neighbours and colleagues. Fill up a collecting cup, start a jar at home, or simply save your loose change.

Together, let’s see if we can reach £1,000 by New Year and show once again that small change really does create a big impact.
