New group running in Slaithwaite

Outlookers: Empowering Visually Impaired Individuals in Kirklees

As a local charity dedicated to supporting those with visual impairments, Outlookers is excited to introduce our newest group in Slaithwaite. Our mission is to foster independence, confidence, and community among visually impaired individuals across Kirklees.

The Slaithwaite group, launched on 22nd January, will be a valuable addition to our network. Held at Slaithwaite Library, these gatherings will provide a welcoming space for individuals to share experiences, build friendships, and access practical support. Our groups are more than just social events—they offer emotional support, peer advice, and guidance on everyday living and technology.

To join our Slaithwaite group, visit the Slaithwaite Library located within the Town Hall at Cross Street, HD7 5AF. The first meeting was held on Thursday 22nd January. The group will run every second and fourth Thursday of each month at the same time from 1:30 PM to 3:30 PM. We encourage all visually impaired individuals, as well as their family and friends, to participate and benefit from our support.
